Qwest Small Business/CenturyLink

Qwest is helping The Flower Shop with social media in exchange for our views on CenturyLink small business services.  The added benefit of the social media coaching is a huge bonus for us since I am technologically challenged most times :-)    Although it has become much easier with the one on one help and the coaching has been hands on with the same person and very helpful and very flexible schedule wise.  The web coaches have been very patient and informative too.  And it’s all part of their service bundles.  You can find out more info at CenturyLink.com

Autumn Weddings

Nothing is more beautiful than the autumn tones here in Colorado. Fall is a beautiful season to get married. The leaves on the trees are bursting with color and the cool air is comfortable. Fall colors look gorgeous in a wedding, and fall wedding flowers serve as a perfect accent piece. A fall theme wedding will include fall colors.

What are fall colors? They are the colors that you naturally see occurring in the fall season – burgundy, apricot, yellows, reds, oranges, and dark greens and warm browns.  To make your fall choices pop consider adding dark purple or lime green – gorgeous!!

For floral bouquets in fall colors, you may wish to opt for flowers that are in season, to save money instead of having flowers shipped in from warmer climates. Roses come in a variety of colors and are available year round. Consider these varieties of roses: Star 2000 (coral orange), Black Magic (dark burgundy), Red Berlin (tomato red), Sari (apricot orange) and Terra Cotta (burnt orange in color).  Accents of the fall season are the same colors, and may also include, fall foliage, dark green leaves, or berries.

Still booking fall wedding dates – The Flower Shop or give us a call at 303-777-4321 to book a consultation.

Beautiful medley of miniature calla lilies, safari sunset, roses, hypericum berries, pin cushion proteas, lemon leaves and bells of Ireland.  The addition of a slash of lime green makes the bouquet pop!!

Gorgeous sunflowers, gerbera daisies, hypericum berries, roses, queen anne’s lace and seeded eucalyptus all tied together with a stunning deep red satin ribbon.

Doesn’t have to be traditional fall tones – hot pink and orange are hot together especially accompanied with shades of ivory to match the wedding gown.

Budget Weddings

I know everyone hates that word “budget” but it doesn’t have to mean cheap or less than fabulous!  It just means that you have to keep things in order – right?!  We have established three separate packages that are budget friendly while staying gorgeous, fabulous and up to date!!  Blooms on a Budget is a great program that we have cultivated with the growers to cap pricing or give bulk pricing without the bulk.  The three packages include Riveting Roses, Gorgeous Gerbera’s and Classic Calla Lilies.  Please visit Blooms on a Budget to get more details or at our entire wedding gallery.

Social Media

We have been coached by a team with Qwest/CenturyLink over the last couple of months to educate us on social media.  A very foreign arena for me personally.  It has been very rewarding and stimulating to learn something so new and so global. There was a staff that set up our Facebook and twitter pages and then there is a one on one coach that spends as much time as you need over the phone or via email to coach you and teach you the ins and outs.  Improve business operations with technology and small business IT solutions.

I am telling you this because Qwest is helping me with the social media in exchange for my honest views on thier services.  You can learn more at Qwest Small Business.

The Anemone

One of my favorite varieties – not just for spring anymore!!  Anemones have cup-shaped, poppy-like blooms that can open about 2 to 3 inches in diameter.  There are single-flowered forms as well as semi double and double forms.  These flowers have a whorl, or collar of lacy foliage just under the blooms, which are made up of five or more petals.  Stems are leafless and somewhat fragile and usually range from 12 to 18 inches in length.  Colors include white, blue and a range of reds and violets, including scarlet, rose, pink, burgundy, mauve, lavender, orchid, purple and blue-violet.  The centers of these flowers are generally black;however, some white varieties have a natural or neutral center.  Depending on variety and grower, these flowers are available nearly year round – approximately September though June, give or take – from a combination of domestic and international producers.  So the terribly hot months are out but what a great addition to your wedding or special events the rest of the year.  And another great variety for the holidays!!

Peony Season at last!

Late Mid- season double, soft cameo-pink, with red freckles on the top of the petals, double row of pink guard petals, big full bloom, Lovely fragrant, normal grower with big leaves.  Approximate six week season but mainly depends on the temperature and if the season has been overly moist.  Top ten requested wedding flora’s year round.  Peonies are available outside of season but tend to be pricey.  Typical season begins around Mothers Day.

Closed Peony or Bud Stage

Angel Cheeks or Sweet Cheeks
